The JTBC mobile app, now called JTBC NOW, has been renewed to fill your dull and boring hours with a variety of enjoyable experiences. The main features of the app include:
- LIVE: Watch various real-time channels, including JTBC live broadcasts and channels focused on different topics, all for free.
- VOD: Enjoy the latest and previous episodes of JTBC programs, with the convenient feature of continuous playback.
- CLIP: Get access to behind-the-scenes videos, previews, memorable scenes, press conferences, and making-of footage.
- TV CLIPS: Watch highlights from various broadcasters, including terrestrial and cable networks, featuring entertainment shows, dramas, and informative programs.
- Search: Easily find and watch videos of currently airing and past programs by searching their titles.
- Pop-up Player: Use the resizable pop-up player to multitask while watching videos. However, please note that pop-up player functionality is not available in the TV CLIPS menu.
In order to comply with Article 22-2 of the Information and Communication Network Act that will be enforced starting from March 23rd, 2017, JTBC NOW app only requires essential access permissions necessary for providing its services. The required access permissions are:
- - WIFI Connection Information: Necessary for checking internet, network, and Wi-Fi status to ensure smooth service provision.
- - Device Information: Required for releasing battery optimization and enabling push notification functionality.
The optional access permissions are:
- - System Popup Usage Permission: Necessary for playing videos using the pop-up player.
- - Notifications: Required for displaying service-related notices (On Android 13 and above, separate permission request may be required according to Google's policy on notifications).
